My USA Trip

My trip to California was years in the making: a dream born after listening to my uncle’s stories, who packed his bags and moved to the US for work 15 years ago. The moment I arrived, the contrast with Italy hit me right away: wide-open spaces, crowds everywhere, and the unmistakable feeling that everything around me was super-sized.
The lifestyle is worlds apart from what we’re used to in Europe, though Silicon Valley is pretty much its own creature. It doesn’t even feel like “typical America,” mostly thanks to the tech startup scene drawing in people from every corner of the globe. But here’s the plot twist: despite all my expectations, I ended up speaking Italian most of the time! All my worries about my “imperfect English” vanished pretty quickly, turns out everyone there speaks however they want, as long as you get your point across.
