Privacy
In short
This is a personal photography site. There are no tracking or advertising cookies, and no data is sold or shared.
Visit statistics
Vercel Web Analytics tells me how many people visit and which pages they look at. It uses no cookies and does not identify individuals: the data is aggregated and anonymous.
Photo ratings
When you rate a photo, the vote is stored with an anonymous code derived from your IP address and browser (a “hash”: it can’t be traced back to you). It is only used to count one vote per person. Your vote is also kept in your browser, to show you what you rated.
Browser preferences
The site remembers a few choices in your browser, such as light or dark theme and whether you have seen the intro animation. They stay on your device.
Maps
Maps use OpenFreeMap tiles (data © OpenStreetMap) and AWS Terrain Tiles: to load them your browser contacts their servers, which see your IP address as any website does.
Contact and newsletter
If you email me or subscribe to the newsletter, your address is only used to reply or to let you know about new trips. You can ask me to delete it at any time.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel; ratings are stored on Upstash (servers in Frankfurt).
Your rights
You can ask which data I hold, have it corrected or deleted by writing to hello@example.com.
